What’s Special About It?
Tecno is marketing it as “Beauty and Beast”. The Beauty is the slim curved body and interstellar spaceship design, the Beast is the 8000mAh battery and 5G chipset inside.
Tecno’s specific claim is: it is the slimmest phone among those with an 8000mAh battery.
Design & Build
This is where the phone stands out. It is only 162.7 x 77.2 x 7.42mm and weighs 195g. For an 8000mAh phone, that is incredibly light – most phones with this battery cross 230g.
It comes in three colors: Melting Silver, Mystic Purple, Storm Titanium. The curved back is inspired by interstellar spaceships, with flowing lines that make it sit comfortably in hand.
Protection is Corning Gorilla Glass 7i, drop resistant up to 1.5mand it has IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance.
Display – Flagship Level For This Price
You get a 6.78-inch curved AMOLED with 144Hz refresh rate, 2304Hz PWM, and 4500 nits peak brightness.
Resolution is 1208 x 2644 pixels (∼429 ppi density), so everything looks sharp. The 4500 nits peak means you can actually see it in direct Karachi sunlight. It also has 2160Hz instant touch sampling, which gamers will love.
Fingerprint is under-display optical, not side-mounted.
Performance & Software
Under the hood is the Mediatek Dimensity 7100 (6nm) with **Octa-core (4×2.4 GHz Cortex-A78 & 4×2.0 GHz Cortex-A55)**and Mali-G610 MC2 GPU.
This is a proper 5G chip, not a rebranded 4G chip. Tecno paired it with its Ice Cooling 3.0 system and claims 90 minutes of Free Fire at 60fps without throttling. It will get 2 Android version updates and 3 years of security patches.
It runs Android 16, HIOS 16with Tecno AI features like AI Eraser 2.0.
Storage – No Compromise
256GB Built-in with 8+8GB RAM – meaning 8GB physical RAM plus 8GB extended virtual RAM. It uses UFS 2.2 storage. There is no microSD card slot, so what you buy is what you get, but 256GB is more than enough.
Camera
Dual setup on the back: 50 MP, f/1.8, (wide), PDAF + 2MP Macro lenswith LED flash, HDR, panorama and video up to 1440p@30fps.
Front is a Single 13 MP shooter with 1080p video. The camera is not the main selling point, but with Tecno’s AI processing and that 50MP Sony sensor, daylight shots come out detailed.
Battery – The Real Beast
Li-Ion 8000 mAh Silicon-Carbon battery with Fast charging 45W.
Tecno says you only need to charge every two days, with more than 15 days of standby, and it supports 10W reverse charging and bypass charging so you can game while plugged in without heating the battery. 0 to 100% takes around 82 minutes. The battery is rated for 2000 cycles, which Tecno describes as 6 years of use.
Gizoye Verdict: Should You Buy It?
If your biggest problem with phones is battery anxiety, this is the phone that solves it without looking like a brick. You get a 144Hz curved AMOLED, a capable 5G chipset, and 256GB storage for Rs. 99,999.
If you want wireless charging or the best ultrawide camera, look elsewhere. But if you want a slim phone that lasts two days on a single charge, the Pova Curve 2 is currently alone in its category.
