Tecno has launched the Pop X 5G in India as a budget 5G handset built around a large battery and a low starting price.
On its official product page, Tecno calls it “TECNO POP X is the phone that never lets you down,” and says it is “Built for all-rounder performance,” with Ella AI support for regional Indian languages.

MediaTek’s Dimensity 6400 chip powers the phone, paired with a 6.78-inch HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate, and ships with Android 16 and HiOS 16.
Tecno is selling the Pop X 5G in two variants, priced at INR. 15,999 for the 4GB plus 128GB model and INR. 17,999 for the 6GB plus 128GB version.
The phone will be available exclusively through Amazon India starting April 24, while Amazon listing copy highlights the device as offering “6500mAh Battery + 45W Fast Charger” alongside MIL-STD 810H protection.

The rest of the hardware lines up with Tecno’s budget-first pitch. Gizmochina says the Pop X 5G carries 4GB or 6GB of LPDDR4x RAM, 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage, microSD expansion up to 2TB, a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera, plus IP64 Pro dust and splash resistance, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
The same report says Tecno is also bundling FreeLink Communication, a feature that lets users make calls, send texts and share files directly with nearby devices without a mobile network, with a claimed range of up to 1.5km in open areas.

Tecno had already teased the Pop X 5G’s key features through Amazon before launch, including up to 6GB of RAM, an aerospace-grade 6-series aluminum camera deco, IP64 Pro protection and MIL-STD-810H certification.
Taken together, the launch points to Tecno leaning on battery life, durability and offline connectivity to separate the Pop X 5G from the crowded sub-INR. 20,000 segment, where brands now push long endurance and ruggedness as hard as they push chipsets and display specs.
